Subject and Association DescriptionJUMBIES was conceptualised as a "crafted exploration of Derrida's concept of hauntology (haunting and ontology), to be presented as a multi-artform performance." It references and explores the colonial relationship between the Caribbean and Scotland ("jumbie" is a Caribbean colloquialism for ghost) through the unique but overlapping practices of textiles, sound and dance.
