Name/TitleKeystone Speaker - Victory Women
About this objectHandmade fabric covered multimedia art book: Keystone Speaker - Victory Women. Facilitated by art practitioner Mara Marxt Lewis, the book was created during an art relay project that enabled ten women artists in Glasgow to collectively produce a work that responds to the ongoing environmental crises in the world. A metaphor of honey bees plays heavily into this, as they are a keystone species - just like the artists playing an important role in society to raise awareness and question the issues in our world.
The book is signed by the participating artists as follows: Mara Marxt Lewis, Alessandra Campoli, Ruth Switalski, Kim Moore, Jade Sturrock, Frankie Burr, Maria De Lima, Rosie King, Maria Howard and Debbie Young. The final relay saw the artists hand the book over to Glasgow Women's Library on 18th May 2022.
