About this objectPaperback publication, described as a zine, titled 'COAPPARATION I, II, III', edited by Claudia Reiche and Andrea Sick. The publication references the three year programme, also called COAPPARATION I, II, III', of thealit Frauen.Kultur.Labor. The following conceptual note accompanies the title:
"COAPPARATION? Cooperation is a process or behavior that can be regarded as essential for many things, ranging from culture and cultural politics to evolution, and vice-versa. Like an engine, it enables the stop and go of functional relationships, whose complex rhythms and intervals can in turn appear instrumental. In an apparition - another word for manifestation - perhaps? In that case COAPPARATION would be a little bit of COAPPARITION, because each instance of cooperation or each instance of its rejection comes down to common understanding, agreeement, inquiry, hesitation, and action."

The project thealit Frauen.Kultur.Labor. emerged in 1990/1991 from the former Frauenkulturhaus Bremen (founded in 1982) with the aim of introducing feminist positions into the cultural discussion in an epistemological and practical way. Since its foundation, thealit Women.Culture.Laboratory has designed international exhibitions and symposia that create suitable conditions for interactions between artistic and scientific reflection. This has created an international network of over 200 artists and scientists, which enables critical research and experimental change in the respective practices. The international laboratories are managed by different curators (including Ulrike Bergermann, Claudia Reiche, Helene von Oldenburg and Andrea Sick ) in changing constellations. Thealit has realized several Europe-wide projects and implemented unusual settings and concepts in, for example, empty department stores.
