Subject and Association Descriptionhttps://glasgowrollerderby.org:
Glasgow Roller Girls were the first flat track roller derby league to be established in Scotland and the fourth in the UK. Founding members Teri Toxic and Mistress Malicious drummed up interest through MySpace and the first training session took place on Sunday 29th April 2007. GRG rebranded in 2012 as Glasgow Roller Derby. Fifteen years on from that first GRG training session, Glasgow Roller Derby continues to move from strength to strength while remaining true to its roots as a DIY club. Everyone involved in the club is a volunteer, and everything – training, recruitment, fundraising, merchandising, paperwork, and all of the other aspects of keeping a large and diverse organisation running smoothly - is entirely in the hands of the skaters, referees, and non-skating officials of GRD.

Vagine Regime UK launched in 2012 and forms a fully inclusive travel team of LGBTQ derby individuals! Spawning from the original Vagine Regime of the USA (formed in 2008), this community is a tag team of queer skaters from leagues all across the UK promoting queer visibility within out sport.

"Since ancient times there has been tension between the rational, enlightened forces of science and the mysterious, otherworldly powers of magic. What better way to figure out who's right than a game of roller derby? Featuring mixed-level skaters from GRD, Auld Reekie Roller Girls, Ayrshire Roller Derby, Doonhame Roller Derby, and Mean City Roller Derby, including some newbies (here's looking at you, Fock Her, Fury L Spark and Poe Slameron!), we took to quad skates to decide the matter once and for all [continues]."
"Rumour has it that there was a rainbow in Glasgow on Saturday, and its end was at the ARC sports centre. It's either that or we had Vagine Regime to visit on the day of the Glasgow Pride march and they brought the most spectacular multi-coloured helmet covers you ever did see, in an attempt to dazzle their plant-powered opponents, Soy Division [continues]".
