Subject and Association Descriptionhttps://www.sports-lgbt.fr/associations/paris-rollerderby:
Paris Roller Derby is a sports association under the 1901 law intended to promote and practice roller derby in competition. It is affiliated with the FFRS (French Roller Skate Federation) and a member of the WFTDA (Women's Flat Track Derby Association). The PRG has around a hundred members including players, referees with or without skates as well as volunteers. Paris Roller Derby has 3 teams of different levels:
Team A: The All Stars, composed of the twenty best players in the league, several of whom are part of the French team. The All Stars represents the PRG in the WFTDA international ranking and in the Elite ranking for the FFRS French championships.
Team B: The Breakfast Club, participates in the French championships at National 1 level, and are also present in European or international matches and tournaments.
Team C : The Sans Culottes, represent the association during the National 2 level competitions of the French championships, and during matches and tournaments of national scope without excluding some European matches.
The PRG recruits new players each year, in September, according to skating and motivation criteria. The Paris Roller Derby also has referees with or without skates, and volunteers. Every summer, roller derby workshops are organized. These workshops, without level criteria, are aimed at any adult wishing to learn or improve their roller derby skating skills. Paris Roller Derby players have 3 skating training sessions and a muscle strengthening session per week, as well as one match scenario per month, with referees. Each team, in addition to its participation in the French Roller Derby Championships, is required to meet competitive teams in sanctioned matches, friendly matches or tournaments. Being part of Paris Roller Derby, whether you are a player, referee or volunteer, also means taking part in the associative life and internal discussions of the league in order to make it evolve, helping to organize the various events at home, participating in trips in order to play, referee, or encourage the teams. It’s about meeting passionate people and being part of a collective.
