About this objectCast iron umbrella stand and drip tray. Inscriptions on the back indicate that it was made in Falkirk and is dated March 25, 1872. The stand has a floral motif and is painted in the (faded) WSPU colours of green, white and purple. Reputed to have been painted by women imprisoned for agitation in the cause of women's suffrage at Duke Street Prison, Glasgow, circa 1914.
