About this objectA blue leather bound book stamped in gilt on the front cover: '6th February 1918' and 'M.J.B.'. The book contains the details of memorial dinners held by the Glasgow Society for Equal Citizenship from 1919 until 1966 in celebration of the passing of the Representation of the People Act 1918. The book was kept by Marion Buchanan, hostess of the first dinner held on 6th February 1919. It also contains the signatures of most of the dinner attendees, a selection of photographs and press cuttings. Some scraps celebrate pioneering feminists such as Dame Millicent Garrett Fawcett and Dr Elsie Inglis.
