About this objectRed paper tissue tie from Trump pinata made in preparation for the Women's Marches of 21st January 2017, following Trump's inauguration. It was filled with sweets and intended to be broken up in the evening at the Herrick Gallery, but a couple of girls on the march decided to destroy him first. The pinata was then left hanging outside the gallery.

Subject and Association DescriptionThe Pinata was created by Alice Herrick and Raul Pina from copies of the Evening Standard (which included pictures of Trump) and a papier mache Mexican beer company box. Alice Herrick is the owner and director of the Herrick Gallery, London, while Raul Pina, who is of Mexican birth, was taught how to make pinatas during his childhood.
